Process of Replacement: Installation Day

Installation,

Last week we talked about the process of speaking with a Chapman Comfort Advisor about a new system. What are your next steps when you decide to purchase? Once you have decided which system is going to be the best fit for your home and family, your comfort advisor will assist you in the scheduling of your installation.

If you are taking part in the City of Columbia Home Performance Program, we will first schedule your Energy Audit Pretest. Tony, our resident Home Performance Specialist, will come out to perform that. You can learn more about that process here.

Come the day of your install, a Chapman installation crew will typically arrive at your home between 7:30 and 8:30 am. To change out the furnace and air conditioner will take all day, and your Comfort Advisor can let you know the time frame of other installations.

After they arrive they will introduce themselves to you and get to work straight away! The crew will split ways so they can install the indoor and outdoor unit at the same time.

The inside crew will lay down drop clothes and put on shoe covers to ensure the cleanliness of your home. The outdoor crew will do their best to make the outside unit look amazing. Outside, our installers often add gravel, landscape timbers, or an ac pad if needed!

Once both systems are connected to the thermostat, they will walk you through the whole thing. Showing you how to use the thermostat, where to change the filter, and what the new units (inside and out) look like to confirm that you are satisfied.

While a whole day can seem like a lengthy process, our expert installation crews are trained to work efficiently and professionally, staying out of your way and keeping you as comfortable as possible!
