Summer Fun in Mid-Missouri!

Fun!,

Many times summer is full of warm weather, pool days, and family vacations! Here at Chapman we hope you already have something fun planned, but if not there is going to be a ton of community- and family-oriented activities happening in mid-Missouri. Check out some of these summer fun activities:

Columbia:

One of my favorite things going on in Columbia this summer is the “Passport to Mid-Missouri” which is happening all summer long. Print your passport out from the link below, then complete as many activities throughout the summer as you can. Turn in your passport after August 21 and you’ll be eligible for a number of prizes.

Jefferson City:

Our states capital will also be hosting a variety of family fun events this summer. One of my favorite Jefferson City traditions is to go to the Salute to America celebration! The downtown area turns into a huge festival with carnival rides, a parade, food pavilions, and of course a fireworks shows. The capital building lights up in the night with patriotism and it is truly a sight to see! At home:

It seems the latest trend in “at home fun” this summer is DIY projects for kids with household objects. Abigail Beal at BigDIYideas.com has listed out 40 simple projects that kids can do with their adults this summer. Whether it’s making fireworks out of straws, inflating a balloon with baking soda, or making ice cream in a bag, it is likely you already have all the tools you need. Check out all 40 ideas by following the link below.
