Thankful Tree
Every year at Chapman we share our thanks throughout the month of November by putting up a Thankful Tree. A marketing consultant we have worked with for years gave this idea to us, thanks Lynn! Everyone – team members and family members, alike – is invited to write down what they are thankful for and attach it to the tree. This tradition is so much fun for a few reasons: 1) it speaks to my inner DIYer, and 2) it is an amazing visual representation of the season.
Even though it’s a few branches, some rocks, and paper leaves, everyone partakes in the Thankful Tree tradition with a certain amount of reverence. Most of the leaves pay tribute to family, faith, or work, but some leaves contain more specific blessings, like kitchen appliances, shoe designers, or hunting wins! No matter what the leaf contains, the best part is seeing the leaves “grow” on the tree throughout the month of November.
Although we’re barely halfway done our Thankful Tree is filling up quickly! As we get closer to Thanksgiving Day the tree will become very full of different colored leaves, containing different notes. This is the perfect way to remind us all of what we have to be thankful for this and every year.
