Thankful for Thanksgiving
Every year, around this time, we gather to discuss what we’re thankful for. There is a whole host of blessings in each of our lives and I trust you don’t have to look far to find them. As a more pointed discussion this year, we have been talking about why we are thankful for Thanksgiving!
The Chapman office team counted their blessings, and here are our final winners of why we’re thankful for Thanksgiving:
Mady: “My favorite part of Thanksgiving is trying new recipes. My family traditions are still forming and it’s a great time to create some of what hopefully becomes yearly must-haves! Last year I made some pull-apart pumpkin bread for breakfast that might have to stay on the menu.”
Heidi C: “I love how Thanksgiving brings family together. How everyone is grateful. I love how everyone has their traditions. And they are all different. I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!!”
Shana: “I love a good leftover turkey sandwich on fresh white bread w/mayo and salt and pepper!”
Heidi D: “I LOVE cooking Thanksgiving dinner AND eating it: Turkey w/homemade gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole!! Pumpkin pie with whipped topping! And I love decorating for Christmas the weekend after!”
Sarah: “I just love all the cooking involved. And seeing my family that I only get to see on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also, this year I’m super excited to share some of my family’s recipes with my fiancé’s family.”
Beth: “My favorite part is hanging out with my family, there’s a lot of people from many sides of the family that get together for Thanksgiving. It’s a lot but it’s really fun!”
Of course we are all grateful to have an excuse for yummy food, and then there’s the prospect of seeing loved ones. Many of us have even started the tradition of Friendsgiving in recent years, to be able to spend time with our non-biological family!
What’s your favorite part of Thanksgiving?
