Three Generations of Comfort
George and Lois Chapman started Chapman Heating and Air in 1958, with one truck and a converted chicken coop. George’s focus was to build a business that provided comfort, leave a legacy for his future generations, and maintain focus on taking care of the customer. Chapman soon became known as a company that operated with expertise and integrity, and as the years went on, the company’s reputation was solidified in the community.
Ron and Beth Chapman (George’s son and daughter-in-law) took over Chapman in
1982. Their vision for Chapman was to grow the company passed down from the first generation, continue to provide their community with comfort, and of course, take care of the customer! Ron and Beth were able to acquire two other local heating and air conditioning companies in the 90s and fulfill their goal of expansion. Throughout their tenure at Chapman, more trucks were added, more technicians were employed, and the business celebrated its 50-year anniversary!
Heather, Heidi, Nathan and Phil (Ron and Beth’s daughters and son-in-laws) are the third generation to take the reigns of Chapman. Heather and Heidi were nearly raised in the business, and along with their husbands, have modernized the company to how we know it today. Continued growth and providing comfort are top of mind at Chapman still, and our number one goal has always remained to take care of the customer!
Now Chapman is looking ahead to our 60th anniversary, and feeling nostalgic about where we’ve come from. Though a lot can change in 60 years, we have always operated under one distinction that helps us continue to provide comfort to mid-Missouri, the very thing that George Chapman built his company on: take care of the customer!
