Summer Fun!
Across mid-Missouri, temperatures are rising, kids are getting out of school, and families are spending more time outside. Summer is here! There is no shortage of fun activities that can happen throughout the summer months, and here are some ideas we’ve put together.
One great (and free!) activity for kids to do is Movies in the Park. Throughout the summer there are hosted events that play kid-friendly movies. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some entertainment. While the kids are on their summer break, it is important to keep their minds learning. Locally, there are also some fun things to do for adults too. Columbia is home to Summerfest, which brings in great recording artists. There are also fun festivals that take place, such as Art in the Park, Salute to America, and the end of summer will bring us the State Fair.
If you are looking for something the whole family can enjoy, check out Restaurant Week. A lot of the local restaurants in downtown Columbia offer specials for a whole week in June. There are prizes to be won and it’s a great way to find your new favorite spot in town. Another great activity that happens each week is the Farmer’s Market. Enjoy samplings of great local produce, meats, and a variety of other things!
