Technician’s Benefits of Maintenance

Maintenance, Fun!,

This week I sat down with some of our technicians and we had a good conversation about the importance of maintenance and why it is so important to check your system twice a year. These guys are really experts when it comes to working on heating and cooling equipment!

The two technicians I talked to are Tony and Trey. These two have a bunch of experience in all things HVAC and they both regularly do maintenance so I sought them out specifically. Tony had been with Chapman since March of 2015 and has become a great resource for some of our younger technicians. Trey has been at Chapman for a little over a year, and he came to us from Colorado where he did service and maintenance on similar units out there.

When I asked Tony and Trey about the benefits of maintenance, they both emphasized the safety aspect of regular maintenance. Having an expert look at both the heating and cooling systems ensures the homeowner that the equipment is operating safely and within the manufacturers specifications. Safety not only provides peace of mind, but also encourages fewer breakdowns and a longer life span.

When I asked them about why it is important to check the units twice per year, they explained a little about what they can do during each check. “The optimal time to check the furnace is when you are using you furnace based on the outdoor temperature. You cannot check all the components of the air conditioner when it is 70 degrees or better,” Tony explained. Trey added, “We’re looking at different things for heating and cooling. Whether it’s the power supply (electric or gas) or the refrigerant levels (AC units primarily), we can’t check everything at the same time.”

For the entire month of March, Chapman is donating $15 to the Central Missouri Humane Society for each new maintenance agreement! Call today to schedule your first EZPAY appointment and we’ll donate your first month’s $15 fee to CMHS.
