This month at Chapman Heating and Air we are running a special for our Maintenance plan – every new Maintenance customer will receive their first month free! We will then donate that $15 savings directly to Welcome Home. Now you can take care of your heating and cooling unit AND give back to the men and women in our community who gave everything to ensure our protection and freedom.

In Missouri alone there are more than 500 homeless veterans. In 1992 a local group of Vietnam Veterans took it upon themselves to put an end to veteran homelessness, and in doing so they began Welcome Home – a local organization that offers support and resources to homeless or at-risk veterans. They offer assistance with rapid rehousing, transitional shelter, and an employment readiness program that provides job training and long-term support in helping veterans find and maintain employment.

They do all of this right here in Columbia at their newer facility located on Columbia’s Veterans Campus, which is also home to Patriot Place, public housing for veterans, and Patriot Park. This facility has 32 transitional housing rooms, a commercial grade kitchen, space for families, a dining and recreation room, plenty of walking trails and a garden. It is capable of housing homeless veterans along with their families and has a separate corridor for female veterans.

The main goal of Welcome Home is to offer veterans facing hardship a place where they can feel empowered. To offer a place of support, a chance to get back on their feet, and the opportunity to build a strong foundation for their future.
